This book so reminded me of being a 13 year old girl again, allowing me to reconnect with parts of myself I’d forgotten. Being inside the mind of a 13 year old was like being taken back to the time where everything seemed possible. So, the main character is so real you can immediately identify with her, her challenges and I wanted to see her beat the dark forces surrounding her. The magical quality of this story kept me enchanted. The story is well put together. It’s exciting, mysterious and dangerous. It’s whimsical and reminded me of a modern day fairy tale. I think What I loved the most was the excellent execution of magical realism. It’s one of my favorite genres. I enjoyed reading every minute of it and will read other books by this author.

Sir Herbert Sneakies is the new children's author to watch out for. Sneakies storytelling is brilliant and she knows how to weave a delightful tale full of ooohs and aaaahhhhs! Margaret Merlin's Journal is a clever blend of fairy tale with ancient legends of Merlin and sorcerers.
Margaret's birthday will soon be starting, and she discovers she has new talents that go way outside the box. Her butler is an awesome character teaching her as well as looking out for her, but when the evil Black Witch comes to visit all manner of skulduggery and shenanigans ensue for Margaret. She is whisked off on a magical adventure with a talking cat and Merlin's wisdom at her side, to rescue the boy she loves and stop the Black Witch from doing what black witches do.
I so love this book and highly recommend it to readers of all ages.
